Hark, Inc. is seeking a Frontend Engineer in San Jose, California. In this role, you'll be responsible for designing and building product interfaces that users interact with across voice, text, and vision. This is a unique opportunity to own features from prototyping through deployment, working closely with designers and engineers.
Ideal candidates possess 5+ years of software engineering experience, a strong understanding of frontend fundamentals, and a passion for AI. Compensation ranges from $170,000 to $400,000 annually, depending on experience.
Hark is an artificial intelligence company building advanced, personalized intelligence. One that is proactive, multimodal, and capable of interacting with the world through speech, text, vision, and persistent memory.
We're pairing that intelligence with next-generation hardware to create a universal interface between humans and machines. While today's AI largely operates through chat boxes and decade-old devices, Hark is focused on what comes next: agentic systems that interact naturally with people and the real world.
To get there, we're developing multimodal models and next-generation AI hardware together - designed from the ground up as a single, unified interface for a new era of intelligent systems.
You'll build the product surfaces of Hark — the interfaces and experiences users interact with every day across voice, text, and vision.
That means translating what our agent can do into something that feels fast, intuitive, and trustworthy. The gap between a capable AI and one people actually want to use is a product problem, and this role owns it.
This is a high-ownership role on a small team. You'll work directly with designers and model researchers, and what you ship will define how people experience Hark.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $170,000 - $400,000 annually.
The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
