Job summary

Root is seeking a Medior to Senior Full-Stack Developer to join our team. You will build core features for our Noon platform, working with Node.js, TypeScript, React, and PostgreSQL. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, an appetite for learning new languages, and comfort in an entrepreneurial environment.

You must be fluent in English and able to work from offices in Ghent, Warsaw, or Chicago. We value fast shipping, high-quality code, and scalable architecture.

Qualifications

• Proficient with Node.js, TypeScript, and React.
• Experience with SQL and PostgreSQL basics.
• Familiar with automated testing platforms and unit tests.
• Strong problem-solver who learns fast.
• Able to contribute to architecture decisions.
• Willing to learn Rust or Go if needed.
• Experience in entrepreneurial environments.
• Fluent in English.
• Willing to work from Ghent, Warsaw, or Chicago offices.

Responsibilities

• Write modular, testable, and efficient code using TypeScript, Node.js (Fastify) and React.
• Build and maintain APIs and data models on PostgreSQL.
• Design and implement high-availability applications.
• Discover, plan, write, document and maintain new features.
• Understand the fundamental design principles behind a scalable application.
• Understand the nature of asynchronous programming and its quirks and workarounds.
• Optimize the product code for speed where required.
