Job summary

Playground is expanding its engineering team to build zero-to-one products across the full stack. You’ll shape APIs and backend services, and craft frontend experiences used by thousands of child care businesses, agencies, and government bodies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in full-stack or software development with frontend and backend exposure.
• Expertise in React and TypeScript (or JavaScript) on the frontend.
• Strong Node.js/Express experience and RESTful API design.
• Experience in cloud environments (GCP preferred).
• Proven ability to ship quickly and own complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and ship features end-to-end.
• Write clean, maintainable code across the stack (React/TS frontend, Node.js/Express backend).
• Lead backend API design prioritizing performance and security.
• Improve frontend experiences in Playground's web app for thousands of users.
• Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Engage with customers to gather feedback and shape requirements.
• Identify tech debt and drive architecture improvements.
