American Forests is hiring a Full Stack Engineer to build cloud‑native apps with geospatial components and interactive UIs. You will work on backend services, UI features, and data workflows within a collaborative GIS & Data Science team.
The role requires 3+ years of production experience, proficiency with JavaScript/React, API design, and deployment to cloud platforms. Fully remote in the U.S. with up to 5% travel.

As part of the GIS &Data Science team, you will build cloud‑native applications that feature interactive user interfaces, analytical capabilities, and geospatial components. You’ll contribute to both backend systems and user‑facing features, applying technical expertise with attention to user needs and implementation details. The Full Stack Engineer will report to the Senior Software &Data Engineer and will work closely with program teams. The Full Stack Engineer does not have any direct reports at this time.
This is a full‑time, salaried exempt position. Salary range: $80,000–$110,000 annually. The position is fully remote (U.S.). Up to 5% travel within the U.S. and/or to Washington, D.C. may be required. The individual must be comfortable with prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
