The Vice President, Full-Stack Engineer II at BNY Mellon is a pivotal role designed for a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in full-stack development within the financial services industry. This role entails collaborating with internal business groups to design, develop, and support complex application systems that meet the organization’s strategic objectives. The successful candidate will oversee technical aspects of business requirements, participate in the preparation of business and system requirements documents, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
This position involves coordinating cross‑functional development teams, analyzing system requirements, and designing scalable, efficient, and secure applications. The role demands a proactive approach to troubleshooting, debugging, and upgrading existing systems, while also developing new functionalities aligned with evolving business needs. The engineer will work closely with data engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to create seamless, modular, and reusable components, ensuring optimal application performance and user experience. Additionally, the role offers an opportunity to work remotely within a commutable distance from the worksite, providing flexibility to the right candidate.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, coupled with at least seven (7) years of progressive experience in full-stack application development within the financial services industry. Proven expertise in developing reusable components, services, and modules that interact end-to-end with backend systems via REST APIs is essential. The candidate should have a strong background in Angular, TypeScript, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Angular Material, and RxJS, with experience in building modular applications using Webpack and Micro Frontends architecture.
Additional qualifications include experience in designing and implementing SOA/OSB/BPM/BRE systems, configuring OSB services with SOA/BPEL, and integrating BPM workflows with Identity Access Management solutions such as Oracle IAM. Hands‑on experience with Oracle databases, including schema creation, query optimization, and performance tuning, is required. The candidate should also demonstrate proficiency in developing RESTful endpoints, conducting performance profiling using tools like Postman and JProfile, and creating responsive, user‑friendly interfaces aligned with UI/UX standards and design tools such as Figma.
Strong communication skills, problem‑solving abilities, and a collaborative mindset are vital for success in this role.
