Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain secure, scalable front-end and back-end components.
• Build responsive web interfaces using JavaScript/TypeScript and a modern framework (React, Angular, or Vue).
• Develop backend services, APIs, and business logic using Python (FastAPI, Django, or Flask).
• Design, implement, and integrate RESTful APIs and work with third-party services.
• Design and optimize relational and NoSQL data models, queries, migrations, and integrations.
• Write clean, maintainable, tested code and create automated tests (unit/integration/API/E2E).
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, backlog refinements, and Agile ceremonies.

• Monitor and troubleshoot application issues across the full stack, including performance and deployment problems.

Remote still requires the candidate to be local to Springfield, VA or St. Louis, MO for quarterly Planning Events and to come in once a month in order to maintain required training and accounts (SCIF access required).

We are seeking a Full Stack Developer with strong Python and JavaScript expertise to design, build, test, deploy, and support modern web applications. The ideal candidate is comfortable owning features end-to-end—responsive user interfaces and APIs through data persistence, automated testing, and production delivery—and thrives in an Agile team environment.

A full-stack developer commonly owns user interfaces, backend APIs, database interactions, testing, and deployment activities; CI/CD and Agile collaboration are frequent core expectations for this role.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain secure, scalable front-end and back-end application components.
• Build responsive, accessible web interfaces using JavaScript/TypeScript and a modern framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.
• Develop backend services, APIs, and business logic using Python and frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
• Design, implement, and integrate RESTful APIs; work with third-party APIs and enterprise services as needed.
• Design and optimize relational and/or NoSQL data models, queries, migrations, and integrations.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented, and testable code.
• Create and maintain unit, integration, API, and end-to-end automated tests.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
• Security clearance: Top Secret/SCI with a CI Poly.
• 5+ years of professional full-stack software‑development experience.
• Strong hands‑on experience developing backend services with Python.
• Strong hands‑on experience developing front‑end applications with JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience with at least one modern front‑end framework, preferably React.
• Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle; familiarity with NoSQL databases is a plus.
• Experience with source control and collaborative branching workflows using Git.
• Demonstrated experience creating, maintaining, or operating CI/CD pipelines using platforms such as GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks, such as PyTest, unittest, Jest, Cypress, Playwright, or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of Agile delivery practices, including Scrum or Kanban, story estimation, iterative development, and backlog‑driven delivery.
• Strong analytical, communication, and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with FastAPI, Django, Flask, React, Next.js, Node.js, Express, or comparable frameworks.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, or containerized application delivery.
• Experience deploying applications to AWS, Azure, GCP, or an enterprise/private‑cloud environment.
• Familiarity with infrastructure‑as‑code and configuration tools, such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Experience implementing application monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting.
• Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SSO, role‑based access control, and secure API design.
• Experience with accessibility practices, including WCAG and Section 508 requirements.
• Experience working in regulated, enterprise, or government environments.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, including SAST, DAST, software composition analysis, container scanning, and secrets scanning.
