Job summary

Jaycon is seeking a Software Developer Intern to support full-stack web applications and internal tools. You will work on backend and frontend tasks, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and engage with cloud deployments using AWS.

The role emphasizes practical experience, collaboration with engineers, and hands-on projects involving automation, data-driven features, and AI-enabled components. You will gain exposure to modern frameworks like React, backend with NodeJS/Python, and DevOps practices,

Qualifications

• Web development experience in backend and/or frontend.
• Proficiency with Python and Bash.
• Familiarity with React and NodeJS.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab CI/CD.
• Basic AWS cloud services knowledge.
• Experience with SQL databases and MongoDB.
• Understanding of OOP and modern design patterns.
• Version control with Git.
• Basic DevOps concepts including containerization and deployments.
• Familiarity with Docker, Linux, and Terraform is a plus.
• Interest in AI, ML, or data-driven systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with APIs and RESTful services.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior engineers on design, development, and implementation of web-based applications (frontend and backend).
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle from requirements to monitoring.
• Develop and maintain backend services using NodeJS and/or Python.
• Design and interact with SQL databases and MongoDB for data management.
• Support cloud-based infrastructure and deployments using AWS.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD for automated testing and deployment.
• Assist in containerization and environment management using Docker.
• Work with Linux-based systems and write shell scripts using Bash.
• Support infrastructure as code initiatives using Terraform.
• Contribute to internal tools, including AI-powered data-driven applications.
• Assist in integrating AI models or APIs into existing software solutions.
• Engage in code reviews, debugging, and cross-team collaboration.
