Job summary

Columbia Engineering invites applications for an Associate or Full Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, starting July 1, 2027. Appointments will be made at the rank of Associate Professor without tenure, Associate Professor with tenure, or Professor with tenure, depending on qualifications.

Exceptional candidates currently at the Assistant Professor level with a strong independent research program are also encouraged.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in operations research, engineering, management science, applied mathematics, statistics, computer science, or closely related area by start date.
• Strong research record, teaching credentials, and service contributions.
• Interdisciplinary collaborations across Columbia campuses are encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead an independent research program in modeling and decision-making under uncertainty.
• Contribute to the department's educational programs and teaching responsibilities.
• Engage in service and leadership within the department and across Columbia schools.
