GENERAL FUNCTIONS:
The Full Line Route Sales position is responsible for driving sales for the assigned route by executing sales programs, growing customer relationships, merchandising product, as well as accurately completing orders to meet customer needs.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: Route Manager
Supervises: None
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive and grow sales within assigned route by executing sales programs, completing follow-up calendar items and building professional relationships with account management
- Services accounts in an assigned area with an approved manifest, driving company vehicle to customer locations
- Complete product orders accurately, ensuring all vending equipment and markets are filled to 100% par levels
- Complete pre-trip inspection on assigned vehicle inspection report daily, as well as checking daily load before leaving to service accounts. Wash assigned vehicle weekly, or more frequently if needed
- Check in with account owner or supervisor upon delivery to accounts
- Review each account with Route Manager execute programs to strengthen sales and distribution to accounts
- At the end of each day, complete check-in sheet with Route Manager, track and report damaged, spoiled, out-of-date and returned product, top off fuel tanks, settle up financially and deposit all money in bank.
- Complete daily activity reports, as well as any other reports assigned by Route Manager
- Observe competitive activity on route, as well as any unusual activity, and report it to Route Manager. Recommend solutions to problem accounts or markets
- Be alert and pursue opportunities for new business that will improve distribution and availability of our products
- Drive and park vehicle in a safe and courteous fashion. Report all accidents or damage to equipment to manager
- Maintain a valid driver's license for the position, along with a valid medical examiners certificate and any other items needed for driver qualification requirements
- Turn in work orders on vehicles, equipment, etc. for needed repairs
- Resolve complaints with customer, ensuring good customer service. Bring to the attention of Route Manager any complaints that are unable to be resolved
- Be clean and neat in personal appearance and uniform per company policy.
- Be honest in speech and financial dealings
- Pick up all extra cartons, shells and any damaged product.
- Verify all vending equipment is clean and in good working order. Call in and track work orders as needed
- Maintain customer files, including account details, contacts, account calls, business builders and a FUPC
- Other duties as assigned
Working Relationships:
Daily with Route Manager, customers, managers and general community members
Routinely interacts with sales management, peers and other personnel
