Job summary

PlanetArt is seeking a Quality Control Associate to join our QA team in Woodridge, IL. You will inspect materials, monitor in-process production, and ensure products meet specifications through visual and measurement tests.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 1–3 years of related experience, and strong Microsoft Office skills, with proficiency in English and basic math. This is a fast-paced warehouse role with meaningful quality impact.

Qualifications

• Strong English communication, verbal and written.
• Able to perform basic math and use handheld measurement tools.
• Experience with High Jump WMS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming raw materials for specifications and test results.
• Inspect in-process production and communicate adjustments to production supervisor.
• Perform QC audits per SOPs without damaging items.
• Approve finished products and document results for QA database.
• Advise supervisors of observed non-conformities.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Job Overview

PlanetArt is looking for a Quality Control Associate to support the company’s QA department. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks.

What You’ll Do

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect and approve incoming raw materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting non conformances.
• Inspect in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual tests ad communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
• Accurately perform QC audit process in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, without damaging items.
• Approve finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual inspection, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.
• Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing re-work and waste, and inputting data into the quality database.
• Advise production Supervisors of any observed non-conformities.
• Perform related job duties as assigned.

What You Should Have

Skills, Qualifications, and Requirements

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Ability to fluently communicate in English both verbally and in written form with staff on all levels and departments.
• Ability to use simple math and use basic hand-held measuring tools.
• Experience using High Jump WMS, preferred.
• Ability to prioritize work against tight timelines, operate with a sense of urgency and perform well under pressure.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• 1-3 years of related experience and/or production/fulfillment experience a plus

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in a fast-paced warehouse environment with exposure to heavy machinery, dust, fluctuating temperatures and moderate noise levels
• Position involves working around machinery with moving parts
• The position may require alternating shifts, depending on volume
• Position requires regular lifting of up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
• Position requires movement of items from machinery to other locations
• Position requires regular handling of materials, packaging, lifting, pulling, pushing, bending
• Frequent sustained walking and /or standing for prolonged periods of time

Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $15.50 - $16.50 per hour.
