Job summary

Job description

You will serve as a FUL - Engineering Technician. The Engineering Technician serves as the primary source for computer-aided design (CAD) for the LowerColorado Dams Office, Parker Dam Division, and is responsible for reviewing designs for compliance withcurrent industry practices and ensuring that designs fit field conditions.

First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the step 1 rate.

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-10/02/2026-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. All candidates must also meet Time-in-Grade requirements.

To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. Failure to adequately provide information needed to determine number of hours worked in each position may result in that time not being credited when evaluating qualifying experience. For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected.

Minimum Qualification Requirements: To qualify for this position, you must meet the following minimum qualifications:

• To qualify at the GS-09 level, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficultyand complexity to at least the GS-08 level in federal service having demonstrated experience performing thefollowing: 1) Utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D or equivalent software to develop engineering drawings and 2)Reviewing statements of work, construction schedules, and contractor payment requests;
  • Utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D or equivalent software to develop engineering drawings
  • Reviewing statements of work, construction schedules, and contractor payment requests
• OR
• You must possess a masters degree or two full years (36 sem hrs) of graduate level education in a field related to this position.
