Job summary

LAUKOA is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead project teams and manage client relationships, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule and budget.

You will oversee financials, evaluate specifications, hire staff, enforce safety, review invoices, and pursue value-creation opportunities from bid through early execution.

A Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 10+ years in DOD construction, including 5 years in fuels, are required; equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering field (civil, mechanical, electrical) or equivalent experience, plus a minimum of 10 years' experience in DOD construction projects, including 5 years of DOD Fuels related construction/quality control experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead project teams with projects of moderate to advanced scope and complexity.
  • Promotes an environment where team members establish relationships and build trust with their stakeholder counterparts
  • Proven track record of creating a positive environment where team members actively create high quality connections among each other.
  • Can anticipate the potential for changing conditions and collaborates as needed.
  • Read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Able to meet time sensitive deadlines and carry out multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Able to analyze data and resolve issues.

Responsibilities

  • Manages project teams and client relationships by clearly communicating expectations for project requirements, scope, schedule and budget.
  • Manages project financials to validate cost, revenue and profit.
  • Evaluates specifications for plan procedures, start and completion dates, and staffing requirements for each phase of the construction project.
  • Hires, directs and motivates supervisory personnel, subcontractors and staff engaged in planning and executing work procedures.
  • Interprets specifications and company policies to subordinates and/or contractors and enforces safety regulations.
  • Reviews and approves all invoices pertaining to the construction department and submits all approved bills to the regional accounting department for processing and payment.
  • Prepares and/or supervises the creation of proposals for future work.
  • Manages quality and H&S to achieve zero accidents and ensure quality goals are met.
  • Identifies value-creation opportunities during bid and/or early project phase.

The following certifications are preferred but not required:
  • API 653 Inspector
  • API 570 Inspector
  • NACE CIP Certification (any level)
  • STI Tank Inspector
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector
  • ASNT Level II or III Certification
  • Quality Control Management (QCM) Course (USACE or Navy)
