Job summary

Cox Automotive in Tolleson, AZ is seeking a Fueler to manage gasoline distribution and vehicle fuel-related tasks. You will record usage in the AS400 system, start vehicles for fueling, monitor gauges, and assist customers during sales days.

The ideal candidate has a HS diploma or GED and 3 years of related experience, or 5 years in a related field. A valid driver's license is required; safety is emphasized in daily duties and audits.

Responsibilities

  • Distribute and accurately record gasoline disbursed in vehicles.
  • Enter fuel usage in AS400 via TC75.
  • Start vehicles, check fuel gauges, mark vehicles that need fuel, and return to fuel them.
  • Report and record Auction gasoline levels and alert proper person to avoid running out of gasoline in main fill area.
  • Report inoperable vehicles to Supervisor or Assistant Manager.
  • Jump start vehicles and put air in tires if needed; report damage or malfunctioning equipment on vehicles.
  • Assist customers in locating vehicles and support sale day duties.
  • Assist in audits of gasoline disbursement when necessary.
  • Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures.

Company Cox Automotive - USA Job Family Group Vehicle Operations Job Profile Fueler Management Level Individual Contributor Flexible Work Option No remote option; must work at a specified Cox location Travel % No Work Shift Day Compensation Hourly base pay rate is $15.10 - $22.69/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Job Responsibilities
  • Distribute and accurately record gasoline disbursed in vehicles.
  • Enter fuel usage in AS400 via TC75.
  • Start vehicles, check fuel gages, mark vehicles that need fuel, and return to fuel them.

  • Assist in audits of gasoline disbursement when necessary.
  • Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such.
  • Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Minimum: High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field.

  • Preferred: Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb Medium strength.
  • Ability to lift 1-50 pounds.
  • Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment

Exposure to outdoor elements, including extreme heat and cold. Moderate noise level.

Benefits

Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
