Job summary

Signature Aviation in Spokane is hiring a Fueler to support fueling and servicing aircraft and to ensure safe, efficient operations of fueling equipment. You will perform fueling/de-fueling, accurately account for transactions, and handle de-icing as needed.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, loading and balancing fuel, and operating fuel trucks and hydrant carts. The role requires the ability to lift up to 100 pounds and to work in varied weather near aircraft.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; 3–6 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Ability to pass background checks, drug tests, obtain an airport security badge, and be insurable by company policies.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.
  • Knowledge of fueling/de-fueling procedures and deicing procedures preferred.
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
  • Must successfully complete PST program.

JOB DESCRIPTION

A Fueler is responsible for fueling and servicing of aircraft and the safe and efficient operations of equipment used in fueling operations.

  • Perform fueling and de-fueling operations in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Responsible for accurate accounting of fuel transactions.
  • Perform de-icing functions as required.
  • Maintain equipment in clean and functional condition.
  • Ensure correct loading and balancing of fuel.
  • Use fuel trucks, hydrant carts and stationary carts to fuel aircraft.
RESPONSIBILITIES

The following are essential to the job, in addition to those listed above and on the chart in this description. Certain functions may be performed in varying weather and environmental conditions, such as precipitation, extreme temperatures, jet engine fumes, dust, and noise. The tasks are performed inside and outside near stationary and moving aircraft (including spinning propellers and engines).

  • Regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Operate company vehicles in a safe manner.
  • Add, subtract, multiply and divide and ability to perform mathematical functions with regard to weight, measurement and volume.
  • Clearly communicate in English with others in person, via telephone, radio communicators, and in writing for purposes of performing certain job duties and safety.
  • Wear uniform and insignia as prescribed by the Company.
  • Report to work in a regular and timely basis.
QUALIFICATIONS

To qualify for this position, applicants and those in the roles must have:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three (3) to six (6) months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Ability to pass background checks (criminal and motor vehicle), drug tests, receive and maintain issuance of an airport security badge, and be insurable by the company's insurance policies
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment
  • Knowledge of fueling and de-fueling procedures for various aircraft, deicing procedures and fueling procedure for various ground equipment preferred.
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
  • Must successfully complete Company’s PST program.

Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors, including, without limitation, skill sets, education, shift worked, responsibilities, seniority, geographical market, merit, output, productivity, prior training or experience, and travel. The pay range for this position is $20 to $23/ hour.
