Job summary

Meritum Energy Holdings’ Pico Propane and Fuels, a Weslaco, TX-based company, is seeking a Fuel Transport Driver to join the team. The Transport Driver loads, transports and delivers refined fuels using an 11,400-gallon tanker, requiring a Class A CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements.

You will comply with city, state, and federal regulations, perform pre- and post-trip inspections, monitor vehicle safety, maintain logs, and coordinate deliveries from multiple locations while upholding safety

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class A CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements.
• Experience handling propane/fuel distribution is preferred.
• Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and DOT requirements.
• Ability to maintain accurate logs and drive records.

Responsibilities

• Load, secure, transport, deliver, and unload fuel products.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on tanker equipment.
• Plan and complete varied and moderately complex operational assignments.
• Gauge tank volumes and test product quality and specs during transport.
• Maintain vehicle safety through routine maintenance and DOT inspections.
• Document inspections, hours of service, miles driven, and products transported.
• Report larger service needs or mechanical issues to supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Pico Propane and Fuels, a Meritum Energy Holdings Company, in Weslaco, TX is seeking a Fuel Transport Driver to join the team! The Transport Driver is responsible for loading, transporting and delivering refined fuels using a tanker truck (11,400-gallon capacity). This position requires a Class A CDL license with hazmat and tanker endorsements.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• - Comply with all city, state, and federal regulations
• - Loads, secures, transports, delivers and unloads product
• - Performs pre- and post-trip inspections on equipment used for the transportation of hazardous materials
• - Plans and accomplishes operational assignments that are varied and moderately complex to complex
• - Gauges tank volumes and tests product quality and specifications of bulk petroleum products while transporting from a variety of locations using a class eight tractor and a tanker trailer
• - Maintains the operational efficiency of vehicles by monitoring truck maintenance needs, conducting minor repairs and conducting daily DOT truck inspections to ensure maximum vehicle safety
• - Maintains and completes accurate records by documenting truck inspections, hours of service, product transported, and miles driven
• - Ensures that delivery vehicle receives service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor
• - Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Skills/Abilities:

• - Ability to effectively and efficiently use navigation tools such as GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps
• - Ability to maintain accurate logs and records
• - Ability to carry out a series of instructions with limited supervision
• - Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations

Education and Experience:

• - High school diploma or equivalent
• - Class A CDL license with tanker and hazmat endorsements required
• - Must meet all DOT requirements
• - Ability to obtain Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)
• - No more than 1 moving violation in the previous 2 years
• - 3+ years tractor and trailer experience in propane and/or fuel distribution (preferred)
• - 1+ years tanker experience within the last 5 years

Physical, Mental, and Behavioral Requirements:

• - Position requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to heavy weights of 10 to 80 lbs. for approximately 90% of the work shift
• - Ability to regularly climb in and out of a commercial motor vehicle, multiple times per work shift
• - Good hand eye coordination, arm hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp and visual acuity to operate equipment is required, including at night
• - Frequent sitting, reaching with hands and arms
• - Must be able to speak and hear
• - Position is subject to pre-hire DOT medical certification requirements and drug and/or alcohol testing, as well as a physical abilities test performed by a company provider
• - Must pass the pre-employment screening
• - Position may require working evening hours and weekends as needed
• - Work is normally performed outside where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, fumes, airborne particles and gases is common
