Job summary

Core States Group is seeking a Fuel Systems Engineering Designer to support our Architecture and Engineering business unit. You will design and draft mechanical engineering projects, including HVAC, plumbing/piping, refrigeration, fire protection, and fuel systems, under supervision of engineers and project managers.

You will collaborate with Site/Civil, Electrical, Structural Engineers, Architects and Construction Project Managers to produce construction documents that meet client requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• 0–3 years of experience with general building mechanical design production for commercial projects.
• EIT preferred.
• AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to identify practical uses for company-approved AI tools to improve team processes and efficiency.
• Demonstrated ability to review AI-generated content for accuracy and protect confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design tasks and reports under the direction of senior staff.
• Conduct site feasibility research and site visit investigations and generate reports/recommendations.
• Assist in maintaining task budgets.
• Coordinate and assist with addendums, RFIs and change orders.
• Assist in coordinating the work of a multi-disciplined team through design and contract document phases.
• Assist senior staff with the project approval process.
• Other related responsibilities as necessary to fulfill objectives of the role.

This role is paid on an hourly basis with a range of $30.28-$38.46 and is eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable laws. The expected approximate annualized compensation range is $62,300-$80,000.

Summary Of Position

As a Fuel Systems Engineering Designer, supporting our Architecture and Engineering business unit, you will you are responsible for designing and drafting mechanical engineering projects under the guidance of Mechanical Engineers/Project Managers. The scope of design will include HVAC, plumbing/piping, refrigeration, fire protection, and fuel systems. As part of a multi-disciplined firm, you will coordinate with Site/Civil Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Structural Engineers, Architects and Construction Project Managers. You will be responsible for the production of mechanical engineering construction documents while adhering to client requirements, code requirements and site adjustments.

• Assist in maintaining task budgets.
• Coordinate and assist with addendums, RFI's and change orders.
• Assist in coordinating the work of a multi-disciplined team throughout the design development and contract document phases of a project.
• Assist senior staff with the project approval process.
• Other related responsibilities as necessary to fulfill the objectives of this role.

• EIT preferred

• Demonstrated ability to review AI-generated content for accuracy, protect confidential information, and remain responsible for the final work product

Work Location

This is a hybrid role (1 or 2 days a week in the office) position based out of the following Core States Group office: Frisco, TX or Long Beach, CA
