Job summary

Love's Travel Stops seeks a college intern to analyze and visualize data across Fleet Sales. You will build reports and tools in Excel, Power BI, SQL, Snowflake, and SAP BI to drive pricing and customer insights.

You will participate in the mentor program and internal training while pursuing a data-focused degree, with opportunities for learning and potential full-time offers.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Currently enrolled in a four-year university program, sophomore level or above.
• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science or Statistics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Excel, Power BI, SQL, Snowflake, SAP BI to analyze and visualize data.
• Build recurring reports and analytical tools for Fleet Sales teams.
• Explore AI capabilities and develop practical use cases for Fleet Sales, pricing analysis, and customer analysis.
• Support other projects by participating in team meetings and brainstorming sessions.
• Other duties assigned as needed.

The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of tasks/projects that address the needs of the Fleet Sales department and to facilitate a learning opportunity for the Intern. The intern will assist in the effort for developing analytical insights that drive value back to the business. This will include model building and incorporating statistical methods.

Job Functions:

• Utilize Excel, Power BI, SQL, Snowflake, SAP BI, and other reporting tools to analyze and visualize business data.
• Build recurring reports and analytical tools that make information easier for Fleet Sales teams to use.
• Explore new AI capabilities and develop practical use cases that support Fleet Sales, pricing analysis, and customer analysis.
• Support other projects outside of those assigned by participating in team meetings and brainstorming sessions.
• Other duties assigned as needed.

Experience and Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or equivalent required
• Currently enrolled in four-year university program, a sophomore level or above (pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science or Statistics preferred, or other related degree).
• Past Internship experience a plus but not necessary.

Skills and Physical Demands:

• Hard Skills: Strong knowledge of Excel; knowledge of data science; strong presentation skills with PowerPoint; understanding of basic analytical techniques. Knowledge of Microsoft Power Bi.
• Soft Skills: Strong problem solving abilities, strong critical thinking, keen attention to detail, strong oral and verbal communication skills, organization skills, and team player.
• Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
• Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
• Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
