Job description

Provide world-class customer service in stores as a full-time, minimum thirty-two (32) hour pharmacist, working to satisfy every customer's needs by exceeding their expectations and making each shopping visit enjoyable and remarkable.

Take responsibility for the overall operation of the pharmacy, maximizing controllable profit and minimizing expenses. Ensure all pharmacy associates comply with current company standards and all Federal and State regulations. Treat customers and employees ethically and respectfully, promoting an inclusive, efficient work environment. Emphasize safety and accuracy when handling patient needs and assist the pharmacy manager with supervisory responsibilities, including training, planning, and problem-solving.

Essential Job Functions:
  1. Support all functions of staff pharmacists, including supporting divisional, corporate, and special promotions.
  2. Participate in special projects as directed by the Director of Pharmacy or Pharmacy Operations Managers.
  3. Provide relief coverage and support for travel locations as needed, covering routine and emergency schedules.
  4. Deliver exceptional customer service, making customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated.
  5. Administer immunizations following Harris Teeter’s protocols.
  6. Complete clinical services according to caseload.
  7. Dispense or compound medications in accordance with prescriptions, laws, policies, and ethics.
  8. Review prescriptions for accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients.
  9. Verify work of pharmacy technicians and interns, ensuring prescription accuracy.
  10. Evaluate medications within patient profiles for drug interactions before dispensing.
  11. Maintain appropriate stock levels and follow protocols on recalls.
  12. Comply with licensing requirements and maintain quality assurance and security standards.
  13. Communicate ongoing programs and impact to department members.
  14. Adhere to all applicable laws, including HIPAA and fraud prevention.
  15. Promote trust and respect within the team.
  16. Ensure all professional standards and regulations are met by pharmacy staff.
  17. Manage vendor check-ins and maintain updated policies and procedures.
  18. Communicate with management about advertising, merchandising, and customer experience issues.
  19. Accurately complete paperwork and maintain records of pharmacy functions.
  20. Maximize profit and minimize expenses while maintaining quality standards.
  21. Review financial reports and make decisions based on data analysis.
  22. Handle customer complaints appropriately and maintain confidentiality.
  23. Support positive customer shopping experiences and foster a welcoming environment.
  24. Follow company guidelines on transactions and display a professional demeanor.
  25. Assist in maintaining a clean, organized space in the pharmacy and related areas.

Qualifications:

Must be a licensed pharmacist in good standing within the applicable state(s). A Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD is required, with previous experience preferred. Certification in immunizations (APhA) and CPR is required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. Ability to work with mathematical concepts and a valid driver’s license are also required.

Compensation: Harris Teeter expects to pay between $87,000 and $120,000 annually, depending on experience and skills. Benefits are available upon meeting eligibility criteria.
