Job summary

Farm & Home Supply is seeking a Scanning Coordinator to support store pricing, signage, and promotions. You will be the pricing expert for the location, using handheld Telxon and the POS/ERP systems to verify pricing and activate price changes.

The role requires strong attention to detail, solid retail experience, and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. You will also help maintain merchandising standards and support safe, efficient store operations.

Qualifications

• Advanced understanding of retail operations.
• 2+ years of retail experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Farm & Home products across categories.
• Knowledge of POS systems preferred.
• Ability to learn ERP system as needed.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Operate handheld Telxon to ensure proper pricing and signing of merchandise.
• Function as the location’s pricing expert while overseeing store-level pricing, verification, and signing; navigate POS to look up products, run reports and activate price changes.
• Oversee the activation and signing of all store sales, promotions, and regular price changes.
• Ensure proper signage and pricing are always used.
• Report items that will not scan.
• Identify discontinued and clearance merchandise as needed.
• Learn to use cash registers to provide backup assistance when needed.
• Follow Company guidelines for department merchandising.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment following loss prevention and safety procedures.
• Attend store and job-related meetings as needed.
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to operate computers and other commonly used retail equipment.
• Consistent attendance for regularly scheduled work shifts is required.

JOB SUMMARY:

To provide the best customer service and maximize sales through the efficient execution of Farm & Home Supply Gold Standards of Operational Excellence. Scanning Coordinators will oversee store-level pricing, activation, and verification of sales, and properly placed signage throughout the store.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Operate handheld Telxon to ensure the proper pricing and signing of merchandise.
• Function as the location’s primary pricing expert while overseeing store-level pricing, verification, and signing. Navigate POS system to look up products, run reports, and activate price changes.
• Oversee the activation and signing of all store sales, promotions, and regular price changes.
• Ensure proper signage and pricing are always being used.
• Report items that will not scan.
• Identify discontinued and clearance merchandise on an as-needed basis.
• Learn to use the cash registers to provide backup assistance when needed.
• Follow Company guidelines for department merchandising.
• Ensure a safe and clean work environment while following loss prevention and safety procedures.
• Attend store and job-related meetings as needed.
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Minimum Knowledge & Requirements

• Advanced understanding of retail operations with 2+ years of retail experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Farm & Home products and merchandise across all categories
• Knowledge of point of sale (POS) systems preferred.
• Ability to learn how to use the company’s ERP system (as needed)
• Knowledge of applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work with groups of individuals as well as independently.
• Contribute to a positive working environment.
• Ability to operate computers and other commonly used retail equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds occasionally engaging in assisted lifting over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
