Job summary

Mansfield Nursing Center invites applications from qualified Registered Nurses or Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses for full-time positions. The care team collaborates to administer medications, supervise Nursing Assistants, and ensure continuous quality of care within a designated unit.

In this role, you will participate in rounds with physicians, review care plans, and document patient information per facility policy.

• Leadership and managerial ability.
• Ability to organize, plan and supervise care and Nursing Assistants on a designated unit and shift.
• Maintains effective interpersonal relationships.
• Good health, sound judgment and professional standards.
• Willingness to provide emergency assistance to residents as needed.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Desire to work with geriatric residents and their needs.
• Willingness to be on time and work weekdays, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Receives report from the offgoing shift.
• Reviews communication systems for unusual occurrences from previous shifts.
• Assigns Nursing Assistants to meet residents' needs during shift.
• Gives report to Nursing Assistants.
• Makes rounds and provides intervention as needed.
• Administers medications and prepares for future shifts.
• Supervises meal service and ensures adequate nutrition for residents.
• Continuously assesses residents for risk and provides timely interventions.
• Documents in the nurse's notes per policy.
• Admits residents as required.
• Assists with lab tests and notifies physician of results.
• Notifies physician of unusual findings and audits charts.
• Reviews and updates medication records for upcoming month.
• Maintains clean and orderly nurse's station and medication room.
• Ensures adequate staffing for incoming shift.
