Job Summary

Evaluates and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy.
• Current or temporary licensure in West Virginia or applicable state; permanent licensure within 90 days of employment.
• Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year experience in acute care, outpatient, SNF, or home health settings.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

This section describes the general nature of work and is not exhaustive. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Provide coordinated patient care including assessment, expected outcomes, and rehabilitation interventions within an interdisciplinary team.
2. Apply research-based techniques to examine, diagnose, and treat conditions affecting movement and function, with supervision and documentation review.
3. Oversee supervision of PTAs, Rehab Techs, students, and volunteers.
4. Participate in departmental goals to support hospital objectives.
5. Supervise physical therapy students and volunteers, including therapy assistants per regulatory standards.
6. Accurately bill for services using the EMR system.

Physical Requirements

Employees must meet physical demands to perform essential functions, with accommodations available for disabilities.

• Minimize manual patient lifting; use lift equipment as per policy.
• Work involves lifting/moving 40+ lbs, standing, walking, and other physical activities.
• Visual abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.

Working Environment

Exposure to infectious diseases, body fluids, and cleaning chemicals. Reasonable accommodations provided.

Additional Details

Willingness to work in inpatient and outpatient settings, participate in rotating weekend on-call schedule, and other duties as assigned.

Schedule: 40 hours/week, Day shift, Exempt status.

Location: GMH Grant Memorial Hospital, 117 Hospital Drive, Petersburg, WV.
