Job summary

MUHA is seeking a full-time Inpatient Occupational Therapist in Florence, SC to join a dedicated medical team at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center.

Responsibilities include evaluating and directing OT procedures, assessing and treating speech and language disorders, developing treatment plans, documenting progress, and collaborating with physicians, families and staff. Requires a degree in occupational therapy, SC license, BLS, and preferred 1 year experience.

Qualifications

• Degree in occupational therapy from an accredited school.
• SC License for Occupational Therapy; AHA BLS or equivalent certification required.
• One year of experience preferred; new graduates acceptable.

Job Description

Evaluates, administers and directs the administration of therapeutic procedures utilized in physical medicine and rehabilitation, as prescribed by a referring practitioner. Establishes goals of occupational therapy and reassesses this patient's progress at regular, timely intervals, supporting findings with appropriate documentation. Assesses and treats speech and language disorders and impairments. Conducts evaluations of an individual's speech and language skills using relevant diagnostic materials and tools. Develops treatment plans that utilize appropriate intervention approaches, strategies, and materials. Establishes treatment priorities that include advising, educating, and counseling. Completes required documentation to record assessment and progress. Collaborates with physicians, family members, and other clinical providers to provide effective therapies. May direct support staff in assisting with treatment.
