Job summary

ADUSA Distribution is seeking a refrigeration mechanic responsible for safe operation and upkeep of our ammonia and Freon refrigeration systems. You will use a computer maintenance system to document work, monitor equipment, and carry out PM tasks while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You must be able to work a Monday–Friday schedule, be on-call when required, and supply your own tools. Training is provided and safety is a priority in this role.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Enter work into the computer maintenance system and review past repairs.
• Monitor and adjust refrigeration systems (Ammonia and Freon) for safe, efficient operation.
• Perform PMs on refrigeration equipment and ensure compliance with codes and standards.
• Daily system checks; perform repairs or coordinate with outside contractors.
• Maintain code compliance and participate in on-call coverage as needed.

Primary Purpose

As a refrigeration mechanic, you will be responsible for the safe operation and upkeep of our refrigeration systems, both Ammonia and Freon. You will need to be proficient in the computer system that monitors and adjusts the refrigeration equipment and understand the impact of operating a refrigeration system and performing PM tasks on the system. You will also perform maintenance on all buildings and equipment both inside and outside the facility without assistance unless conditions require more than one person. Each mechanic is expected to perform high quality work in a safe fashion and understand all safety rules for the task being performed. In carrying out their duties, each person is responsible for working productively and making suggestions for improvements. Training will be offered, and it is necessary to stay current with your level as well as a demonstrated ability to perform the work.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Enter work into the computer maintenance system throughout the shift and be able to use the system to investigate repeat repairs and previous work performed on that equipment.
• Able to monitor and adjust the refrigeration systems (Ammonia and Freon) to provide a safe efficient process through use of refrigeration maintenance system of adjustments to field devices.
• Able to perform PMs on refrigeration equipment as needed. Make sure all equipment meets standards, codes and regulatory requirements.
• Perform daily walks to ensure the system is operating safely and if repairs are required, then either make repairs or call outside contractors to schedule this work.
• Ensure all equipment is meeting code through replacement schedules.
• Responsible for all PSM updates.
• At times when no coverage is present at the facility, an on‑call condition with a beeper may be required.
• Make recommendations for modifications to procedures or processes impacting their work group or center that will maximize efficiency, productivity, and reduce costs.
• Ensure compliance with Delhaize America standards in the areas of accuracy, safety and productivity.

Pay: $27.90 - $41.70 per hour

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 4:30PM
