Job summary

Kimpton The Forum - Birch & Bloom is seeking a hotel engineer/maintenance professional to maintain and repair building systems, conduct routine upkeep, and support installation of equipment. The role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in a hotel environment.

The ideal candidate has prior maintenance experience in hospitality or similar settings and is comfortable performing hands-on tasks across mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a hotel engineer or comparable maintenance experience at a hotel, apartment complex, or office building.
• Ability to be yourself, lead yourself, and make it count.
• Flexible schedule; able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all equipment, systems and building components including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing and safety features.
• Repair and paint hotel areas; install/replace lighting fixtures and bulbs.
• Clean carpets, inspect machinery, and listen for unusual sounds to diagnose issues.
• Dismantle defective machines and install new or repaired parts; repair structural elements as needed.
• Attend training sessions and communicate project status with the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Assist in delivery/setup of new equipment and respond promptly to guest requests.

Pay Range/Rate

What You'll Do

Responsibilities include maintaining all equipment, systems and building components including, but not limited to; mechanical and electrical systems, pumps, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, locks, furniture, paint, wall coverings, tile and other equipment.

Some of your responsibilities include:

• Build, repairs, and paints all parts of the hotel.
• Install and replaces lighting fixtures and bulbs.
• Clean carpets and rugs.
• Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
• Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
• Dismantle defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
• Repair and maintain physical structure of establishment.
• Fabricate and repairs furniture and fixtures.
• Attend all scheduled training classes and meetings.
• Paint corridors, hotel rooms, and lobby areas when necessary.
• Transport heavy boxes and packages within the hotel for maintenance and repairs.
• Assist in delivering and setup of all new equipment such as televisions, mattresses, tables, chairs, etc.
• Communicate with Maintenance Supervisor on projects as assigned.
• Respond to all customer requests in a timely and personable manner.
