GEO Group is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our correctional healthcare team. You will work alongside an RN to deliver high-quality nursing care to inmates/detainees in a secure facility.

The role emphasizes nursing assessments, medication administration, and adherence to accreditation policies, with a focus on patient safety and confidentiality within a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed as an LPN in Georgia.
• Must have current, unrestricted LPN license.
• Two years of direct nursing experience preferred.
• Competence in crisis intervention, medical emergencies, physical assessment, nursing care, and psychiatric nursing care.
• Ability to work without direct supervision and provide appropriate follow-up treatment.

Responsibilities

• Develop nursing care plans with guidance from the RN.
• Perform complete physical assessment and medical history.
• Provide nursing care within your capacity and refer other medical problems to the physician.
• Ensure prescribed medications are administered as instructed.
• Periodically evaluate patients' symptoms and progress and report problems to management.
• Securely administer medication and prevent drug hoarding and trafficking.
• Document all detainee/inmate contacts and maintain confidentiality of medical records.
