Job summary

Gatorland Inc is seeking a full-time, non-exempt Food Service employee in Orlando to operate a cash register, serve guests, and maintain tidy, inviting areas. You will support our mission of providing fun, smiles and memories while handling transactions and assisting across snack bars and carts.

The role requires 18+ years, ability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays, and physical work including lifting up to 35 lbs. Benefits include comprehensive insurance and a 401-K plan.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Able to stand for long periods and walk long distances.
• Must be available for all shifts during busy holidays, summer, and weekends.
• Ability to operate cash registers and handle cash/credit transactions.

Responsibilities

• Operate cash register and process cash and card transactions.
• Maintain neatness and cleanliness of designated areas.
• Provide friendly guest service and promote the company mission.
• Cross-train in Pearl’s, Snack Bar, Sweet Tooth's Sweet Shop and Carts.
• Assist in food preparation and daily station duties as needed.

Reporting Relationship: Food Service Manager

Status: Full-Time/Non-Exempt/Hourly

Starting Wage: $15.00 per hour, Commissions, Insurance benefits, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401-K w/ match and a bonus program.

Summary of Duties: The employee will be responsible for operating a cash register while strictly adhering to Gatorland’s Cash Handling Policy. The employee will also be responsible for the neatness of their designated areas while promoting great customer service and our company’s mission statement of “providing fun, smiles and special memories to all of our guests.”

Primary Duties:

• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. when necessary
• Operate cash register
• Accuracy in cash handling
• Maintain neatness of area
• Able to be cross-trained in at Pearl’s, Snack Bar, Sweet Tooth's Sweet Shop, and Carts.
• Operate beverage machines
• Operate fryers, ovens and/or warmers for food preparation
• Prepare salads and sandwiches
• Take food orders from guests
• Operate cash registers for cash and credit card transactions
• Clean and maintain work area
• Receive and stock food and paper supplies
• Dispose of trash
• Performs other duties as requested

Education, experience and specialized skills and knowledge requirements:

Must be 18 years of age. Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time. Must be able to walk long distances. Must be able to communicate well with others. Must be available for all shifts with no restrictions during the busy holidays, summer and weekends.
