Job summary

Saia Motor Freight Line LLC in Knoxville is seeking dockworkers to efficiently sort, handle and load freight and unload it from over-the-road equipment, containers and city trailers using a sit-down forklift. In some cases, you may perform hostler duties moving trailers around the yard.

Qualifications

• Freight handling experience required.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• Hazmat training preferred.
• Previous freight dock or warehouse experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight on trailers using a forklift, pallet jack or manually in compliance with state and federal DOT guidelines
• Read and interpret shipping labels
• Hand load, rewrap or stack freight as necessary
• Secure freight inside the trailer using the provided and appropriate dunnage
• Other duties as assigned

Job Summary

Saia is currently looking for dockworkers to join our team. Our dockworkers will efficiently sort, handle and load freight into and unload it from over the road equipment, containers and city trailers using a sit down forklift. In some instances, our dockworkers will also perform the job duties of a hostler, moving trailers throughout our yard.
