Full‑time Academic Professional Lead Tutor is responsible for providing learning support to students with proactive tutoring and mentoring throughout their enrollment at Lansing Community College. Tutoring will focus on learning outcomes for student success including retention and completion. Work assignments may be scheduled on campus Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters, with evening and weekend assignments during Fall and Spring semesters to best serve students. They will participate in department training, tutor training and professional development, mentoring and annual peer reviews. Lead Tutors may be a liaison for academic programs in assigned subject areas and/or career communities. In all duties this position must demonstrate the ability to work effectively with a diverse population of students and colleagues, in a team‑based environment, seeking continuous improvement and be fully committed to the mission, values, and community college philosophy of Lansing Community College.
Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.
LCC policy requires all LCC employees to be residents of the State of Michigan and to perform all work (with limited exceptions) within the State of Michigan.
Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check as part of the employment process.
