Job summary

CAVA is seeking a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Specialist to collaborate with suppliers and distribution partners, ensuring compliance with food safety standards. You will monitor supplier performance, create trend reports, and support documentation reviews, with up to 20% travel as needed.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in US regulatory environments, GFSI auditing, and data-driven problem solving; travel and flexible hours may be required to support supplier programs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in food processing plants (USDA and/or FDA) focused on food safety, regulatory, supplier and distribution compliance and GFSI auditing.
• 3+ years with a BS in Food Science, Microbiology, Biochemistry or related field preferred.
• Experience with supplier and distribution center auditing, monitoring, and approval programs.
• Understanding of GFSI standards and how to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Able to analyze information and communicate findings using data tools (Excel).
• Willingness to travel 20%+ and work flexible hours.
• Detail oriented with ability to manage projects independently.

Responsibilities

• Remain current on regulations pertaining to supplier and distribution center requirements and GFSI.
• Support onboarding and compliance reviews, follow-ups, performance monitoring, and supplier audits.
• Use data to communicate findings and recommend actions to FSQA team.
• Support traceability and mock withdrawals/recalls.
• Collaborate with other departments to implement Food Safety and Quality Assurance programs.
• Review production checks for completeness to release products.
• Coordinate product evaluations and document observations with culinary and supply chain partners.
• Adhere to policies that support a service mindset.
• Meet timelines across teams and deliver on responsibilities.
• Foster trust and show consistent performance and attitude.
