Fresh Mark, Inc. in Salem, Ohio, is seeking a detail-oriented FSQA Microbiology Technologist to support environmental monitoring and food safety programs.

This on-site role focuses on environmental and microbiological sampling, sanitation verification, investigations, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive corrective actions. You will conduct EMP-guided sampling, manage swabs, perform pre-operational and air/ water testing, and contribute to audits and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree or experience in microbiology, food science, biology, or chemistry.
• Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Flexible schedule with occasional early mornings, shift work, and weekends as needed.
• Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental and microbiological sampling according to EMP.
• Collect, label, document, and manage environmental swabs and samples.
• Perform routine testing including pre-operational, contact surface, air, water, and compressed air sampling.
• Partner with Production, Maintenance, and Sanitation on root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Maintain environmental monitoring documentation and cleaning schedules.
• Monitor microbiological inventory and testing supplies.
• Support customer, regulatory, and third-party audits.
• Participate in food safety, sanitation, microbiology, and capital project meetings.

Fresh Mark is seeking a detail-oriented and self‑motivated FSQA Microbiology Technologist to support food safety and environmental monitoring programs. This role is responsible for environmental and microbiological sampling, sanitation verification, investigations, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive corrective and preventive actions.

Location: Salem, Ohio (100% on-site)

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental and microbiological sampling according to the Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP).
• Collect, label, document, and manage environmental swabs and samples.
• Perform routine testing including pre-operational, contact surface, air, water, and compressed air sampling.
• Partner with Production, Maintenance, and Sanitation teams on root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Maintain environmental monitoring documentation and cleaning schedules.
• Monitor microbiological inventory and testing supplies.
