Job description

Location: Anywhere in Country

At EY, we’re all in to shape your future with confidence.

We’ll help you succeed in a globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and take your career wherever you want it to go. Join EY and help to build a better working world.

The opportunity

We currently are seeking a Senior Consultant to join EY engagement teams, deliver consulting services, and develop business with our clients: the largest providers of life insurance, group benefits, and retirement solutions.

Our Business Transformation and Growth (BTG) practice helps clients reimagine, modernize, and transform their business and technology landscapes to create sustainable business value. In this role, you will help clients define, design, and implement target-state architecture solutions that support business transformation objectives while leveraging leading technologies, platforms, and industry best practices.

In return, you can expect to develop deep expertise in insurance architecture transformation, modern platform ecosystems, cloud technologies, integration strategies, and enterprise modernization initiatives while gaining exposure across the insurance value chain, including product development, sales/distribution, underwriting, policy administration, servicing, and claims.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Support the design and delivery of solution architectures for Life & Group Insurance transformation initiatives.
  • Develop architecture artifacts, solution designs, and technical specifications across policy administration, underwriting, claims, servicing, integrations, data, and reporting.
  • Partner with business and technical teams to translate requirements into scalable and sustainable technology solutions.
  • Contribute to target-state architecture roadmaps and modernization strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Evaluate platform capabilities and support solution option assessments, including technology recommendations and trade-off analyses.
  • Assist with integration architecture efforts, including APIs, middleware, cloud services, and enterprise system connectivity.
  • Support data architecture activities, including data migration, reporting, analytics, and cloud-based data platforms.
  • Participate in architecture governance processes, design reviews, and compliance with enterprise standards and security requirements.
  • Collaborate with delivery and engineering teams to ensure solution designs are effectively implemented and architectural standards are maintained.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, cloud capabilities, and AI innovations, while contributing to architecture best practices, accelerators, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
To qualify for the role, you must have
  • A Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of relevant consulting, architecture, or technology experience.
  • 3+ years of experience across Life Insurance, Annuities, or Group Benefits.
  • Experience supporting architecture and implementation initiatives on one or more of the following policy administration platforms: FAST (Verisk), FINEOS AdminSuite, ALIP, OIPA, DXC wmA/CyberLife, EXL LifePro, or comparable modern PAS solutions.
  • Strong understanding of the Life & Annuity value chain, including product configuration, underwriting, policy administration, servicing, claims, and distribution.
  • Experience developing solution, application, integration, or enterprise architecture deliverables for large-scale transformation programs.
  • Knowledge of architecture patterns, integration technologies, APIs, middleware platforms, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native solutions.
  • Familiarity with platform configuration, extension frameworks, data migration, and enterprise system integration approaches.
  • Experience working within onshore/offshore delivery models and collaborating with clients, system integrators, and third-party vendors.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business audiences.
  • Experience facilitating architecture workshops and presenting recommendations to executive and technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, and architecture modeling techniques.
Ideally, you'll also have
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Economics, or related disciplines.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or equivalent enterprise architecture methodologies.
  • Insurance architecture certification or policy administration platform certifications.
  • Experience defining modernization strategies for legacy policy administration platforms and supporting cloud transformation initiatives.
  • Strong experience working within Agile frameworks, including Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe practices.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% to meet client needs, as required.
What We Look For

We're looking for technically strong and strategically minded professionals who combine architecture expertise with insurance industry knowledge. Successful candidates are intellectually curious, collaborative, and passionate about helping clients solve complex business and technology challenges through innovative architecture solutions. You should be comfortable engaging executives, influencing technical decisions, and guiding organizations through large-scale transformation initiatives while delivering practical and sustainable business outcomes.
