Job summary

EY seeks a Senior Consultant to join our Business Transformation and Growth team in the Financial Services Organization. You will help clients transform operating models, processes, and technology in life, annuity, and group product lines, while leveraging AI, cloud, and analytics.

Travel to client sites is expected as engagements demand. You will gain exposure to product development, sales, underwriting, policy administration, servicing and claims, and you will present findings to client

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, Business, Economics, or related disciplines
• Minimum of 3 years of consulting and/or industry experience in financial services
• Strong oral and written communication skills including executive presentation skills
• Experience assessing and improving business processes, systems, and associated technologies
• Understanding of financial services products and the operations processing lifecycle
• Experience documenting operating models and business processes
• Travel to client sites, as necessary

Our Business Transformation and Growth team helps financial services clients improve and transform their life/annuity, group benefits, and retirement services businesses in areas such as operating model redesign, process improvement, technology enablement, organizational design, M&A due diligence, and post-merger integration as clients reimagine, modernize and disrupt how they succeed in the market and create long-term, sustainable value.

The opportunity

Advances in AI, cloud, and advanced analytics are resetting what organizations can do: faster onboarding / underwriting, elevated experiences, lower cost to serve, and more productive distribution. We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Consultant to join EY engagement teams, deliver consulting services and develop business with our clients.

In this role, you will help our clients achieve their desired goals and business objectives. In return, you can expect to learn leading practices in business & technology transformation while solving a range of complex challenges using modern digital tools and methods. You will gain exposure in all areas of the value chain: product development, sales and distribution, new business and underwriting, service and policy administration, and claims.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Consistently deliver high-quality client services across a variety of engagements
• Redesign and modernize core functions (e.g., sales, underwriting, new business, policy administration, claims)
• Document current- and future-state operating models and business processes
• Communicate complex issues clearly and build relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels
• Monitor progress, manage risk, and keep key stakeholders informed on engagement progress and expected outcomes
• Stay abreast of industry trends and apply in-depth domain knowledge and technical acumen to solve client problems
• Present key findings to client / EY leadership
• Develop a strong personal brand by building team assets and points of view (e.g., thought leadership, frameworks, benchmarks, accelerators) that translate industry trends into client solutions
• Stay informed of and apply professional standards and firm policies
• Contribute to proposals and business development, including client materials, pricing inputs, and follow-on scoping

To qualify for this role you must have

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Economics, or related disciplines
• Minimum of 3 years of consulting and/or industry experience in financial services
• Strong oral and written communication skills including executive presentation skills
• Experience assessing and improving business processes, systems, and associated technologies
• Understanding of financial services products and the operations processing lifecycle
• Experience documenting operating models and business processes
• Travel to client sites, as necessary

Ideally, you'll also have

• Understanding / experience with life, annuity, or group product lines (e.g., fixed, indexed and variable annuities, term/whole/indexed/variable life insurance, group disability & dental)
• Familiarity with the insurance distribution and sales-enablement landscape (e.g., IMO/BGAs, career agents, banks, broker dealers, registered investment advisors)
• Familiarity with core technology platforms (e.g., CRM, order entry, workflow, underwriting, policy administration, servicing and claims) and modernization of legacy platforms
• Working knowledge of data, analytics, and AI applications across the insurance value chain
• Knowledge of insurance regulatory and underwriting/suitability requirements and their operational implications
• Experience with M&A due diligence, post-merger integration, or reinsurance and capital-efficiency initiatives

• The salary range for this job is:
• New York City, Boston, and Washington DC Metro Areas, Washington State, and Southern California offices – $116,700 to $194,500
• Bay Area California offices – $121,600 to $202,600
• All other offices locations in the US, including Sacramento – $97,300 to $178,300
• Individual salaries within these ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
