Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Assist the pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with regulations.
  • Maintain adequate inventory levels of drugs and supplies by placing orders.
  • Keep medication, product, and supply stock for the pharmacy.
  • Maintain Pyxis unit stock daily.
  • Perform monthly unit inspections.
  • Keep the pharmacy clean, orderly, and stocked with supplies.
  • Complete monthly education as assigned.
  • Receive and verify supply orders and complete documentation.
  • Return overstocked stock to 3rd party vendor.
  • Comply with control substances regulations and Pyxis distribution documentation.
  • Stay current with specialty equipment and serve as a technical resource.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Assists in maintaining adequate inventory levels of drugs and supplies by placing orders to the wholesaler on an as needed basis.
  • Maintains medication, product, and supply stock for the pharmacy
  • Maintains Pyxis unit stock on a daily basis.
  • Assists in performing monthly unit inspections.
  • Assures that the pharmacy is kept clean, orderly, and stocked with adequate office supplies.
  • Completes monthly education as assigned.
  • Receives and checks for accuracy of the supply orders, completes necessary documentation.
  • Returns overstocked or unnecessary stock to 3rd party vendor.
  • Understands and complies with rules and regulations concerning control substances and the distribution to the Pyxis units with the required documentation.
  • Understands specialty equipment, keeps knowledge up-to-date, is technical resource for others, follows technology, policy & procedures, and standard of practice.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience
Education and Work Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Vocational Pharmacy Technician training preferred.
  • One year of hospital/retail pharmacy practice required
Required Licenses/Certifications:
  • State of California Pharmacy Technician License
