Job summary

United Surgical Partners International is seeking a perioperative RN to obtain preoperative health histories and support care planning for surgical patients. The role emphasizes collaboration with the care team and accurate documentation of patient data.

The position requires completion of an accredited RN program, California RN licensure, BLS, with ACLS and CPAN preferred. Acute care experience is advantageous, and the shift is 8 hours per day with compensation based on experience.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an accredited registered nursing program.
• BLS certification is required for the role.
• ACLS certification is preferred but not mandatory.
• CPAN certification is preferred where applicable.
• Current California RN license is required or eligible to practice.
• Two years of acute care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in obtaining patient health history preoperatively to aid care planning.
• Coordinate with team to address patient and family needs.
• Conduct preoperative health history interviews and document findings.
• Ensure documentation meets standards and policies.
• Prepare patients mentally and emotionally for surgery.
• Review significant health history with Medical Director or designee.
• Communicate any special patient needs per policy.

Job Summary:

This position is accountable for obtaining the patient’s health history and relative information preoperatively to assist in the planning and collaboration of individual care.

Essential Functions:

• Assures the needs of patients and families are recognized and addressed through coordination with other team members within the health care system and community.
• Communicates special patient needs per department policy and procedure.
• Conducts and documents preoperative health history interviews with patients scheduled for surgery
• Documentation meets current standards and policies.
• Obtains pertinent patient data based on surgical procedure and health history
• Prepares patient mentally and emotionally for surgical procedure pre-operatively through education.
• Reviews with the Medical Director or designee any patients with significant health history and/or abnormal lab, EKG or CXR.
• Other duties as assigned

Required Experience:

Education & Work Experience:

• Completion of an accredited registered nursing program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
• Certified Perianesthesia Nurse Certification (CPAN) preferred
• Two years of acute care experience preferred.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

• Current California Registered Nursing License.

Salary:

• $46.23-$57.79 (Depending on Experience)
• 8hr. shift
