Job summary

FlexSteel USA, LLC in Baytown, TX seeks a Warehouse Associate to load/unload materials, operate forklifts, and ensure accurate receipts and shipments. You will work with ERP/WMS systems, verify orders, and maintain stock levels while adhering to safety standards.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of manufacturing warehousing experience, ability to read safety rules and procedures, and strong attention to detail. This role requires reliable attendance and compliance with OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Must read and understand load sheets, locations, and differentiate between similar parts.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic in all units of measure.
• Must follow instructions and work effectively with personnel and customers.
• Must be insurable and hold a valid driver's license.
• Regular attendance is required, and forklift operation up to 55k pounds is permitted.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and move materials within the plant, yard, or work site.
• Check deliveries for accuracy and match to purchase orders and invoices.
• Enter receipts into inventory or ERP systems and maintain logs.
• Label, route, and organize received items to appropriate departments.
• Pick, pack, and stage outgoing orders and create shipping documents.
• Verify items against orders and ensure proper packaging for transport.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Unload incoming shipments using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks
• Check deliveries for accuracy (quantity, part numbers, condition)
• Match items to purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices
• Document discrepancies (shortages, overages, damages)
• Enter receipts into inventory or ERP systems
• Label and route received items to the appropriate departments
• Pick, pack, and stage outgoing orders
• Create shipping labels, bills of lading, and other paperwork
• Verify items against sales or shipping orders
• Ensure proper packaging to prevent damage in transit
• Load shipments onto trucks or railcars, ensuring secure placement
• Maintain accurate stock levels through data entry
• Track and record movement of materials in and out of the warehouse
• Help organize and maintain storage and staging areas
• Alert supervisors to low stock or inventory discrepancies
• Use inventory, WMS, or ERP systems
• Maintain shipping and receiving logs
• Process returns, RMAs (Return Merchandise Authorizations), and restocks
• Communicate with purchasing, sales, and logistics teams
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
• Follow OSHA and company safety guidelines
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards
• Keep shipping and receiving areas clean and hazard-free
• Liaise with carriers, drivers, and delivery personnel
• Resolve shipping issues (missed pickups, incorrect deliveries)
• Coordinate with internal departments on urgent orders or special shipments
• Other duties as assigned.
