Job summary

Amazon is seeking a FS Ops Program Manager for the Food Safety Team in Arlington, VA. You will oversee regulatory contacts, ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies to protect customers and product safety.

Your role includes coordinating with legal, compliance, and operations, documenting submissions, training teams, tracking KPIs, and developing proactive strategies for future regulatory changes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • 4+ years in compliance program management, governance, or risk-related roles.
  • Experience with regulatory filings and investigations.
  • Proven ability to partner with internal and external teams to execute initiatives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities

A day in the life
Managing communication with regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders. Reviewing and interpreting regulatory requirements, collaborating with internal teams to address compliance issues, and submitting necessary reports and filings. Proactively identifying potential regulatory risks and providing guidance on compliance matters while driving efficiency and minimizing risk in a fast‑paced environment.

About the team
The Food Safety team ensures the highest standards of product safety and customer satisfaction. The team manages regulatory contacts, customer feedback investigations, product recalls, withdrawals, and severe adverse event reporting, working cross‑functionally to address issues quickly, mitigate risks, and safeguard the customer experience.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with regulatory filings and reports.
  • Experience with research and investigation skills.
  • Experience establishing successful partnerships with internal and external teams to execute tactical initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of program requirements definition and data/metrics leveraging to drive improvements.
  • Experience in program or project management.
  • Experience interacting with local food safety regulators.
