Job summary

Truly Green Farms in Ontario is seeking a farm worker to handle fruit and vegetable produce, divide harvests into marketable lots, grade by size and color, pack produce, and operate farm machinery. The job requires physical stamina and the ability to work at heights and in a hot environment at a fixed location.

This permanent, full-time position offers on-site housing options, free parking, training paid by the employer, and team-building activities.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced farm environment.
• Must be physically fit for heavy lifting and standing for long periods.
• Willingness to work at heights and in hot conditions.
• Bondable.

Responsibilities

• Divide fresh harvested produce into marketable lots and non-marketable lots.
• Grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to size, shape, colour and volume to fetch high price in market.
• Greenhouse cleaning.
• Pack fruits and vegetables.
• Plant, cultivate and irrigate crops.
• Remove manually all suckers and water sprouts.
• Sort fruits and vegetables.
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
• Detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock and poultry.
• Examine product for quality and its readiness for the market.
