Job summary

The Fruit Load Operator at Ventura Coastal, LLC in Visalia is responsible each shift for securing proper fruit load from the yard, transporting with the shuttle car to the fruit receiving station, and assisting the receiver to unload onto the conveyor. If the employee is absent, another Fruit Load Operator will perform these job duties.

The role requires a High School Diploma, 2 years manufacturing preferred, knowledge of 5th wheel operation, and a forklift license or ability to obtain one;

Qualifications

• Shuttle Truck driver does not require a driver’s license. The shuttle truck can only be driven on Ventura Coastal property.
• Must have knowledge and experience operating a 5th wheel, hauling trailers in tight spaces.
• Possess a valid forklift license or ability to obtain one.
• High School Diploma.
• Two (2) years of manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Food Safety is the responsibility of all Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees. All Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees must be aware of CCPs in their area and how to document them appropriately. All staff must report food safety and quality problems to their immediate supervisor in charge during their shift.
• Retrieve fruit from yard as per the fruit picking schedule.
• Unload fruit at the fruit receiving station.
• Weigh fruit loads at the scale prior to delivery to the fruit receiving station.
• Complete and sign manual fruit log, located in the guard office.
• Perform daily mechanical and safety checks on the shuttle car.
• Perform clean up on fruit receiving ramp when ramp is not in use.
• Provide the Fruit Receivers with break and lunch relief as required.
• Follow all safety rules and practices including the wearing of all personal protective equipment.
• Follow all food safety/quality and personal hygiene practices.
• Demonstrate reliable attendance, consistent punctuality and a positive attitude at all times.
• Act professionally towards customers, vendors and other visitors to the plant.
• Perform other duties as assigned as required.

Job Summary
