Job summary

You will gain knowledge of products in the department, answer questions, recommend items, monitor freshness and temperatures, and help ensure safety and accuracy in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 or older.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create a welcoming, helpful environment for customers.
• Answer questions about products and suggest options.
• Inform customers of specials.
• Recommend items to meet customer needs.
• Check product quality and review sell-by dates.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain temperature logs.
• Follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
• Notify management of accidents and safety risks.
• Perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
