Job summary

Gerrity's Supermarkets is hiring an Assistant Dairy/Frozen Food Clerk to support the Grocery Department. You will stock shelves, rotate products, and keep display areas neat and sanitary, while delivering strong customer service under supervision.

The role requires ability to lift up to 75 pounds and basic math for pricing and discounts, with a professional appearance and punctuality. This full-time position offers a starting pay of $15.00 per hour, with a focus on teamwork and reliability

Qualifications

• Ability to hear, speak, and understand the spoken word.

Job Description

The Assistant Dairy/Frozen Food Clerk is responsible for performing duties as directed by the Grocery Manager and/or Assistant Grocery Manager (3rd Man) for the successful operation of the Dairy & Frozen Food and overall Grocery Department. It is essential that as an Assistant Dairy Manager, you will present yourself in a professional and courteous manner at all times while performing your defined responsibilities. You are responsible for always maintaining our high standards of Customer Service. Other duties may be assigned as required, depending upon the available time, business volume and other criteria as determined by your appropriate supervisors and/or Gerrity’s Supermarkets. Full compliance with current and future policies will be required to ensure that your work contribution is in the best interest of Gerrity’s Supermarkets.

Responsibilities

• Responsible to stock, rotate and dress grocery/dairy shelves
• Maintain and organized all back stock
• Responsible for maintaining grocery sales area, shelves, floors and back room area and ensure they are neat and sanitary
• Responsible for maintaining daily specials and for replenishing specials on the shelves
• Responsible for verifying products and their correct shelf label and/or sign while maintaining proper product alignment
• Will be present at your workstation at the start of your shift
• Comply fully with all safety policies and procedures
• Adhere to Customer Service Pledge at all times
• Maintain a neat, professional appearance at all times while working and strictly adhere to the Dress Code policy
• Attendance at your job is essential to the overall function of your department

• Assist department manager and team members in the achievement of a favorable customer experience and team member interest.
• Work with Grocery Supervisor and Store Manager in regard to merchandising, planning, scheduling, sales trends, potential problems and potential solutions
