Job summary

The Transportation Security Administration seeks Transportation Security Officers who provide security and protection of travelers across all transportation sectors in a courteous and professional manner. Qualification can be met by either one year of relevant security experience or a high school diploma/ GED/ HiSET/ TASC.

Qualifications

• At least one year of full‑time work experience in the security industry, aviation screening, or as an X-ray technician.
• High school diploma, GED, HiSET, or TASC high school equivalency certificate.
• Credit for experience is based on a 40‑hour workweek; part‑time experience is credited on a part‑time ratio.

Responsibilities

• Provide security and protection of travelers across all transportation sectors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Maintain readiness to travel; occasional travel may be required for training and duties.
• Adhere to dress and appearance requirements in the applicable collective bargaining agreement (CBA).
• Assist with security operations and reporting to ensure the safety of the traveling public.
