Job summary

State of Mississippi seeks a Social Services Specialist in the Wellbeing and Permanency unit to manage and document cases for children in care. You will visit homes, conduct investigations, and participate in safety assessments and court hearings.

The role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and flexibility to handle a dynamic work environment, with on‑call duties and court appearances as needed.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain case files for children in care.
• Visit children in care in foster homes, facilities and hospitals.
• Complete investigations of abuse/neglect and safety assessments.
• Attend court hearings and Family Team Meetings.
• Coordinate referrals to dental, vision, and medical services.
• Transport children to appointments and supervision visits.
