Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• EMT from an accredited post-secondary institution.
• Firefighter 1 certification required within 1 year of employment.
• Kansas EMT certification required for this position.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a Non-Commercial Class B license within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Responds to fire alarms, rescue, EMS and other emergency calls.
• Performs fire ground activities, evacuations, hydrant ops, search and rescue.
• Operates firefighting apparatus and ambulances. Provides care per certification level.
• Maintains department equipment and records; attends drills and training.
• Directs extrication operations and participates in prevention programs.
