Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Cyber Defense Analyst to join a mission-focused team supporting Navy cybersecurity at ONI HGCC in Suitland, MD. You will monitor and analyze alerts for TS/SCI networks, apply CND discipline, and communicate findings to stakeholders.

The role emphasizes incident management, proactive threat hunting, and collaboration across tools and teams to protect critical networks. Active TS/SCI clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, IA or related field with 5+ years of experience.
• 8+ years experience in lieu of degree acceptable.
• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• 5+ years concentrated experience in the CND discipline.
• 3+ years monitoring and investigating alerts from cybersecurity tools.
• Experience with SIEMs such as Splunk and Elastic.
• Experience with NIDPS and host-based tools like Defender, ePO, Tanium.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Ruby, JavaScript, PowerShell, C, C++, Java.
• Knowledge of penetration testing and red team tools (Kali, Burp Suite, Metasploit, etc.).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform first line monitoring of security tools and initial analysis of TS/SCI network alerts.
• Monitor cybersecurity tools for alerts, anomalies, and indicators of compromise.
• Investigate and escalate incidents to Tier 2 as needed.
• Create and manage incident tickets in the ticketing system.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting to identify malicious activity.
• Perform wireless security scans and report findings.
• Correlate alerts across platforms to identify trends and threats.
• Prepare operational and situational awareness briefings.
• Support annual cyber defense exercises.
