Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking a Border Patrol Agent to protect America's borders and enforce immigration and customs laws.

The role involves patrolling the international boundary and coastal waterways using a variety of government assets, detecting and questioning individuals, and apprehending undocumented entrants who threaten national security and public safety. Qualified applicants will have specialized experience in law enforcement, the ability to interpret immigration

Qualifications

• Specialized Experience in law enforcement or other responsible work that demonstrated ability to: make arrests and exercise sound judgment in firearms use; interact with individuals tactfully in law enforcement matters.
• You qualify for GS-13 if you have 1 year of specialized experience, including enforcing immigration or related laws, analyzing intelligence, developing case work and investigating smuggling operations.

Responsibilities

• Protect America's borders and economic prosperity by enforcing immigration and customs laws.
• Prevent undoc u mented noncitizens and smugglers from entering the United States; patrol borders by land, sea, or air.
• Perform surveillance from covert positions, interpret tracks and evidence, and conduct checks and patrols.
• Be prepared for shift work, potential overtime, and travel as part of the duty assignments.
