Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer in Seattle to lead complex deployments of frontier models in production. You will own discovery, system design, build, and rollout, partnering with customer engineering and domain teams to deliver real-world impact.

You will write production-grade code, collaborate across product and research, and help shape model roadmaps with field feedback. This role offers hybrid work (3 days in office) and relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering or technical deployment with customer-facing work.
• Experience delivering complex systems in fast-moving environments.
• Production-grade code across frontend and backend (Python/JS).

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end deployments of frontier models in production.
• Design and build full-stack systems delivering customer value.
• Collaborate with customer engineering and domain teams.
• Measure success via production adoption and impact.
• Contribute code when needed and share field feedback.
• Plan scope, sequence delivery, and remove blockers.
