Job summary

Alkira is seeking a Software Engineer - UI Developer to join the Frontend Engineering team in the Bay Area. You will build and debug the web and mobile UI for Alkira’s CSX platform, collaborating across teams to deliver scalable, secure networking interfaces.

Requirements include 1-2+ years React/Redux experience, strong JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and testing with Jest/Mocha or Cypress. This is a hybrid role requiring onsite collaboration at the San Jose, CA office in the Bay Area.

Qualifications

• Requires B.S./M.S. or equivalent in EE or CS.
• Excellent Javascript programming and debugging skills.
• 1-2+ years of professional React/Redux or modern framework experience.
• Proficiency with HTML, CSS3, and JavaScript including ES6 concepts.
• Experience with CSS and Less/Sass in large scale apps.
• Nice to have some Node.js API development experience.
• Experience in at least one UI testing framework like Jest/Mocha or Cypress.
• Familiarity with web build tools and CI/CD pipelines.
• Team-player with distributed teammates.

Responsibilities

• Build web experience using React, Redux and Hooks.
• Develop software for Alkira’s CSX platform.
• Design and deliver scalable web applications and component libraries.
• Promote usability and accessibility in the user experience.
• Handle REST APIs, Git, CI/CD, and testing suites.
• Improve test coverage across end-to-end, integration and unit tests.
• Manage time effectively, work independently and in a team.
