Job summary

Perkbox is hiring an experienced Senior Frontend Engineer to design and deliver scalable, high-performance user interfaces for millions of users. You will work in a cross-functional squad to drive frontend best practices, performance, accessibility, and consistency across our platform.

This Bulgaria-based role focuses on building robust frontend features, collaborating with backend engineers, and contributing to frontend libraries and tooling.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of commercial experience building frontend applications with React.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• 1+ year of React Native experience.
• Experience working with Apollo or similar state and data management solutions.
• Proven ability to build reusable components and frontend libraries.
• Experience translating designs and wireframes into polished user experiences.
• Strong understanding of frontend performance optimisation techniques across web and mobile applications.
• Experience using Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Broad understanding of modern web architectures and development best practices.
• Exposure to AI-enabled development tools and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain responsive user-facing features using React.js, React Native, and TypeScript.
• Translate wireframes and design prototypes into high-quality, reusable code.
• Build and maintain modular frontend components and libraries to promote consistency and scalability.
• Collaborate on frontend solutions across both web and mobile applications, ensuring performance, usability, and consistency.
• Manage complex data flows using Apollo and modern state management practices.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and adopt emerging technologies.
• Optimise applications for performance across browsers, devices, and screen sizes.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, including unit and UI integration tests.
• Collaborate closely with backend engineers to deliver seamless user experiences.
• Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and agile ceremonies.
• Diagnose and resolve performance issues, bugs, and frontend reliability challenges.

Interview Process

• Online interview with the Senior Talent Advisor
• 75-minute technical interview with Engineering Leads
• 45-minute final interview with the Director of Engineering

Условия:

Remote working within Bulgaria only. We do have an office in Plovdiv should you wish to work hybrid. Gross annual salary: €50,000 to €56,000 based on experience.
