Job summary

Doppel is seeking a senior frontend engineer to elevate UI/UX across our core platform. You’ll work with our lead designer to create a cohesive, performant experience for enterprise customers, influencing seven-figure deals and how teams interact with our product.

You’ll help build a frontend platform where design systems and infrastructure scale with a guarded, tokenized design language, and where AI-assisted development raises the abstraction level while keeping code safe and reviewable.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with React and TypeScript.
• Experience owning platform-level frontend work: design systems, component libraries, build tooling.
• Genuine excitement about AI-assisted development and safe scaffolding for agents.
• Strong collaboration with designers, product teams, and backend platform engineers.

Responsibilities

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for a senior frontend engineer to elevate every aspect of UI/UX across our core product platform. You’ll work closely with our lead designer to create a cohesive, performant, and modern user experience that instills confidence and trust in enterprise customers. Your work will directly influence seven‑figure deals and how customers and internal teams interact with our product.

What You'll Be Doing

Doppel’s Frontend Platform team is building toward something that hasn’t really been done: a frontend platform so complete that product teams no longer need to do frontend development. Designers and product engineers describe what they want; the platform — a rigorously constrained design system, agent‑driven code generation, and paved‑road infrastructure with permissions, telemetry, turns it into production code. We’ve already proven the foundation works: our modern stack (React 19, Relay, a custom UI kit with agent‑enforced golden paths) is explicitly designed so AI agents generate reviewable, production‑safe frontend code. Your job is to close the remaining gap between design and production. This is a small team with an ambitious, still‑forming charter at a company rapidly expanding its product portfolio — you’ll shape what it becomes, and every product Doppel ships will run on what you build.

• Build and maintain the frontend infrastructure every product runs on: the application shell, data layer, routing, auth, and build/deploy pipeline — so product teams ship features, not frontend plumbing.
• Evolve the design system from a component library into a contract: constrained, composable primitives with tokens, docs, and guardrails tight enough that generated code is correct by construction.
• Build the design‑to‑production pipeline: the tooling, agent workflows, and review guardrails that let designers and product teams go from a design to a shipped, production‑quality surface without hand‑writing frontend code.
• Make the platform safe by default: permissioning and packaging gates, observability, accessibility, and internationalization baked into the primitives rather than re‑implemented per feature.
• Own production health of the shared client: monitors, SLOs, and ownership routing so failures page the right team automatically and the platform stays trustworthy enough to build on blindly.
• Package the platform for scale: a versioned component library and scaffolding that lets new apps and product surfaces spin up on the paved road from day one.
• Partner closely with design and product teams as your customers — their velocity is your success metric.

Who You Are

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in React and TypeScript, building and operating production web applications.
• Experience owning platform‑level frontend work: design systems, component libraries, build tooling, data‑layer patterns (Relay or similar GraphQL clients), or frontend infrastructure other engineers build on.
• Genuine excitement about AI‑assisted development — you see agents as a way to raise the abstraction level of frontend work, and you want to build the rails that make that safe.
• A platform mindset: you measure success by what other teams (and designers) can ship without you, not by features you shipped yourself.
• Comfort operating in ambiguity — the team’s charter is being defined in real time as the company grows, and you’ll shape it rather than inherit it.
• Familiarity with production monitoring and performance work (RUM, SLOs, error budgets) is a strong plus.
• Experience collaborating deeply with designers — design tokens, Figma workflows, Storybook‑driven development — is a strong plus.
• Strong communication skills: your customers are product teams, designers, and backend platform engineers.
• Product‑minded, highly autonomous, and comfortable in a fast‑paced startup environment.
