Job summary

Google's Colab team is hiring a Software Engineer to advance frontend features for data science surfaces and deliver high-quality, scalable UI components. You will collaborate with product and engineering teams to shape an extensible frontend architecture and lead frontend modernization efforts across Colab.

The role combines on-call production support with building new capabilities for critical projects, leveraging HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript in a fast-paced, on-site Kirkland, WA

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of experience with front-end and user interface development.
• Experience with web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a tier 2 on-call rotation to support Colab's production services.
• Contribute to the exploration, design, and implementation of a frontend modernization effort, updating our codebase to align with modern, Google-standard infrastructure.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to design and build an extensible frontend architecture that accelerates the development of new features.
• Develop and deliver high-quality, performance features for critical team projects.
• Design, build, and maintain robust frontend components and services for the Colab applications.
